What is sustainability?
Sustainability? Ha, like that’s gonna happen. In a nutshell, it’s this idea that we can keep the environment running without destroying it. We need to use resources responsibly so we don’t deplete them and so that future generations can benefit from them too. For example, if everyone used reusable shopping bags instead of single-use plastic ones, we’d reduce the amount of plastic waste clogging up landfills. Or if we all ate less meat and dairy, we’d reduce our carbon footprint. Fun fact: in 2009, the United Nations declared April 22nd to be International Mother Earth Day, an annual reminder of the importance of sustainability.
