Moncton is a small city located in southeastern New Brunswick, Canada. It’s population is only around 70,000, making it the largest city in the province and the 8th largest metropolitan area in the country. Despite its small size, Moncton is a major commercial, transportation, and tourist hub. The city is home to a number of large employers, including the Atlantic Lottery Corporation, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the Irving Oil refinery. Moncton is also known for its vibrant arts and culture scene, boasting numerous festivals, music venues, and galleries. However, it’s most famous for its ‘Moncton Miracle’ – a legendary moment in Canadian hockey history when the local AHL hockey team, the Moncton Wildcats, scored a dramatic overtime goal to win their first Calder Cup in 2006. So, while Moncton may not be the most exciting place on the planet, it’s certainly worth a visit – just don’t expect too much!
