Moncton is a small city in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. It’s population was estimated to be about 70,000 people as of 2018, so not exactly a bustling metropolis. It’s known for being the birthplace of the popular ‘Moncton Miracle’ hockey team, who, despite their small size, won the Stanley Cup in 2006. What a joke! The city is also home to a few minor attractions like the Magnetic Hill Zoo, the Magic Mountain water park, and the Highland Games, which is just a bunch of people in kilts throwing rocks at each other. As if that weren’t enough, Moncton is also the host of the world’s longest running annual marathon – the ‘Marathon by the Sea’ – every year since 1981. Oh, and here’s a fun fact: Moncton is the only city in Canada that is officially bilingual, so if you’re looking to practice your French, it’s the place to go!
