Microprocessor
A microprocessor is a very small computer chip that is found inside many of the electronic devices we use every day. It’s kind of like a tiny brain that helps the device work. It can do things like control how your phone makes calls, how your computer runs programs, and how your TV shows you pictures. It’s amazing how powerful these tiny chips are! Think of a microprocessor like a tiny chef in a kitchen. It takes all the ingredients (data) and mixes them together in the right way so the electronic device can do its job. For example, if a microprocessor was inside a car, it would be responsible for controlling the brakes, the steering, and other important parts. Fun fact: the first microprocessor was released in 1971 and was called the Intel 4004. It was only as powerful as a modern calculator and was the size of a fingernail!
