Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of data that are stored on your computer. They are used to remember your preferences and help websites remember who you are so that you don’t have to keep entering your information. For example, if you log into a website, the cookie will remember your username and password so that you don’t have to re-enter it every time you visit the website. An analogy to help you understand cookies is to think of them like the memory in a computer or video game console. Just like a computer needs to remember what programs you have installed and the settings you have chosen, a website needs to remember who you are, what you like and what your preferences are. Fun fact: The first cookie was created by Lou Montulli and Marc Andreessen in 1994.
