Black hole
A black hole is a place in space where a huge amount of matter is packed into a very small area. This creates a powerful force of gravity that is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape from it. Think of a black hole like a cookie monster. It can eat anything in its path, even light! An example of a black hole is a supermassive black hole at the center of our Milky Way galaxy. It is about 4 million times more massive than the sun and it is about 25,000 light years away from us which is about 145 trillion miles. An analogy for a black hole is a sinkhole. A sinkhole is an area of land where the surface suddenly collapses because of a hidden underground cave or passage. Just like a sinkhole, a black hole can pull in all the nearby matter. Fun fact: Black holes can be so large that they can even affect the orbits of planets.
